Hi, we will be travelling in December from Guilin to Fenghuang, and I would like to know if in December the bus will be operating, how long does it take to get to Fenghuangm and if the departure time (12h) is correct. @Patricia You will have to purchase ticket by yourself directly from Guilin Qintan Bus Station as online tickets are not sold to international tourists using passports. The booking engine of Guilin Qintan Bus Station can't read passports at all. Since you are traveling in November which is not the busy season, you will have no problem to get your ticket by purchasing it on the spot. Just as what you knew, this bus from Guilin will take you to Huaihua West Bus Station firstly; There, you will be arranged to another bus going to Fenghuang Ancient City. The journey itself is efficient and smooth and you can count on it.

@Rob November is not busy travel season. But, if you can, go to Guilin Qintan Station to purchase tickets one or more days in advance would be better for securing your tickets.

If we have to go the bus station for tickets, can we go on the day itself or do we need to go in advance?

@Miguel Bus tickets on this route are not sold online and you will have to purchase tickets yourself directly from the departure bus station. You can send your passport copies to your hotel receptionist and see if it is possible for them to purchase tickets on your behalf. It has only one daily bus running from Guilin to Fenghuang and there is no indication showing more buses will be added.

We are travelling from Guilin to Fenghuang on 21 of august. Can we book the tickets in advance? Or do we have to buy them directly at the bus station? In that case, can we ask the hotel to buy them for us? Now, there is only one bus each day, from Quintan bus station, at 11:00. Maybe at august you are going to offer more buses, or it will be only this one each day?

@DW yes, it's avaiable and ticket price is 180 yuan per person.

@ChinaBusGuide Thank you. We already did that part of the trip. Finally the host in our hostel helped us and phoned the bus driver to tell him where he needed to pick us up. It would be very helpfull for other turists if you could give some information about this in your website.

@Dadde yes, it has a busy bus to travel from Guilin to Fenghuang. Since tickets specified here are not sold online and we have no way to check ticket availability, it's hard for us to tell that you should reserve tickets in advance or not. We will let you decide it yourself.

Continued: You should be able to buy the tickets on the day of with no issues (we did!). The bus departs directly from Qintan bus station. If you have time, buying the tickets a couple days in advance would probably be for the best though.

Hi! Posting a comment here to help any confused travelers. I took the direct bus from Guilin to Fenghuang today (so yep, it's still running). Bus leaves daily at 11 am and arrives around 6 pm. It will stop for 1-2 bathroom breaks (frequency and number depend on the driver) and yes there is plenty of room for luggage. Not many people were on the bus when we took it. You will not be able to buy tickets online if you are not a Chinese resident. You will therefore have to buy the tickets in person at the Qintan bus station. Look this up using Baidu Maps if Google Maps doesn't work: 琴潭汽车客运站售票大�? Not sure if the kiosks there speak English, but if not show them the Chinese characters for Fenghuang: 凤凰古城 Hope this helps!

@juliana, yes the bus still runs - I took it today. The only thing wrong on this page is that it takes 7 hours not 6 (ours wasn't delayed - we were told this is the normal time). You can buy tickets there on the day - we did and there were only 6 people o

Are u able to see/check if many seats are left on.my travel date? During the date of my travel, do i need.to be worried, or its off-peak n likely i can get the ticket when i reach guilin? Or, can i buy the ticket from guangzhou bus station? because i will reach guangzhou earlier. as for china train, i think most convenient is to travel by direct.bus from guilin to fenghuang. not sure how to travel/comnections via.train.
