You will have no problem to catch the 11:40 am bus as long as your flight will not be late. Usually, it takes about 1 hour from the time you come out from the plane until you have tickets collected/purchased from ticket counter of the bus station.
Booking two buses means you will pay two times, that's not an econmic solution. Under this case, i would advise you purchase tickets yourself on whatever bus that is available for you upon your arrival to the airport. This way, you don't have to worry about not being able to catch the bus booked.
If we book advance tickets for you and you fail to catch bus booked, your tickets will turn invalidated and no money will be reimbursed.

We'll be arriving at Pudong airport on Wednesday morning, day 17th of july.
Our flight is scheduled to land at 9:55 am.
We'd like to book the tickets for the bus of h 11:40 am, going to Zhangjiagang.
Can you please tell me what happens if our flight is late?
Can we book also the tickets for following bus, the one of 12:50?
